With an increase in housing estates in the North-East area of Singapore as well as the bed crunch situation faced in the public housing hospital, the Ministry of Health willconstruct a public hospital in the area, which offers a comprehensive range of medical services as well as a full suite of medical specialties.

This hospital consists of a tower for Specialist Outpatient Clinic and a tower for inpatient wards with a podium. It also includes a basement car park space that can hold about 1,000 cars. The design-bid-build development is with the site area of 55,000m² and the GFA of 127,000m².

This project will be constructed inclose proximity to existing MRT stations, community clubs, polyclinics and neighbourhood police posts, posing a huge challenge to the restriction of space. To prevent site congestion, just-in-time delivery methods should also be adopted and the site should be divided into two zones to build up the two separate towers.

The client wants to build this on a fast-track basis without any accidents and with emphasis onSustainability, Water conservation and Green Mark. Stages for construction of this project are:

• Site Clearance
• Road works
• Drainage
• Foundation and Superstructure works including finishing
• Electro-Mechanical works
• Finishes and External Works
