On April 20, 2010, an explosion occurred in the Deepwater Horizon Platform which is located in the Gulf of Mexico. As a result, 11 company workers died and 17 others were injured. Also, an Oil Geyser sank for 87 days spilling more than 4.9Million barrels into the sea. This caused unquantifiable environmental damage to the coastline, wildlife (more than 8000 dead birds, turtles) and sea life.
