On December 31, 2023, around 5 pm, I was driving my car eastbound on Highway 1 near East 1st Ave. exit in Vancouver in a second lane from the centre line. A black Ford F-150 came from nowhere and followed me very close and rear-ended my truck. My car fish-tailed and I almost lost control, but I managed to stop my car at the shoulder. It was very dangerous. It could have been a serious collision. The driver of F-150 did not respond to me, he had slurred speech and had a strong odour of liquor. Three VPD cruisers came. The police officers and the driver seemed to know each other; I am not 100% sure though. One of the officer came and told me "Sir, your car did not have much damage, why don't you just go home and call ICBC instead of wasting our time?" I told him that the other driver smells alcohol and is suspicious of DUI (*driving under the influence) and you should check his sobriety. However, he never listened to me and wanted to see my driver's license. He seemed to check his computer in his police vehicle and came back. He said "Sir
