Define the meaning of a "wage" and give three examples of what is included in wages and three examples of what is excluded from wages. For the definition about the wages they are the compensation for an employee's personal services, whether paid by check or cash, or the reasonable cash value of noncash payments such as meals and lodging. Also the payments are considered wages even if the employee is a casual worker, a day or contract laborer, part-time or temporary worker, or paid by the day, hour, or any other method of measurement. The examples of the components of the gross wages are: Hourly wages, salaries and tips. Also the examples that are included in the wages that the gross pay which refers to all the money that your employer pays you before any deductions are taken out. It includes all overtime, bonuses, and reimbursements from your employer, and it does not account for such deductions as taxes. insurance, and retirement contributions. And the examples of the excluded payments which include: reimbursements for expenses under an accountable plan, payments to a minor child employed by their parents, payments to foreign governments or international organizations, and the wages of temporary emergency response workers
