On the theory portion of the class, we discussed some of the theoretical underpinnings of the criminal justice system. Labeling theory (whether knowingly or unknowingly by policymakers, scholars, and practitioners) has been impacting the CJS over the last couple of decades. What are your thoughts on some of the movements that have come out of it (e.g., ban the box, decriminalization, restorative justice)?
