One fall morning, Donald decided to take his friend Alan plane for a joyride. Although Don did not ask Alan's permission before taking the plane, he figured it would be OK because Alan routinely got angry about things. Donald did, but his anger quickly passed plan was to fly north about 35 miles and make a Lopez over his other friend Bryan's home before circling back to the airport, about 1 mile from home as Donald was descending to make his Lopez the point began to experience, mechanical problems, Donald gradual descent quickly change to a rabbit in uncontrolled descent for several seconds it appeared that the plane would fly directly into Bryan's home, but Donald was able to change the course at the last second crashing into two cars parked in Bryan's driveway. When Bryan came outside to see what had happened he found the airplane involved in flames with Donald standing nearby. Together, they were to put out the fire on the plane as well as the fire that was spread to the two cars. Ultimately, Brian determined that both cars were drivable, but one of the cars had a nauseous smell of burnt plastic inside the passenger compartment that would not go away. When Alan arrived at the scene after receiving a call from Brian, it was not immediately clear to Alan whether the plane was salvageable. His initial thought was that the damage was relatively minor and he might even be able to fly the plane back to the airport.
