One of the challenges for startups is finding managers and new talent. Especially for senior managers, companies will often hire managers from existing companies. These people are often quite concerned about jumping ship from a stable/large company to work at a startup. That concern is sometimes abated for managers who has a working spouse. In this study, only men in an arrangement that prioritizes the spouses career are willing to jump to a startup. A woman in a situation where her spouse's career is prioritized is still not willing to jump to a startup. The men in the survey respondents were comfortable jumping while women in a similar situation were not or did not feel encouraged/supported to do so. Why do you think that is?
