One of the first things you need to know when starting a new project are the benefits of the proposed business change and how to communicate those benefits to the business. Preparing a business case involves an assessment of business problem or opportunity, benefits, risk, cost, timescale, impact on operations and organizational capability to deliver the project outcomes. These project issues are an important part of the business case. They express the problems with the current situation and demonstrate the benefit of the new business vision. The business case brings together the benefits, disadvantages, cost, and risks of the current situation and demonstrates the benefits of the new business vision. You are going to develop a Disability Management Program that includes Early and Safe Return to Work as part of the program elements for your occupational injuries in the workplace and describe how you will implement it. You are a part of the Human Resources Team, employed as a Disability Manager and your employer does not have a Disability Management program for their occupational injuries and illnesses. You are the sponsor for this program and the sponsor is responsible for preparing the business case. Your goal is reduction of workplace claims, time on modified duties and or lost time days incurred. You can utilize the information in all units as additional information to formulate your plan. The expectation is that you use the information from the units, and it will be represented in detail as a part of your business case. Each page/section will have a heading specifying which unit you are writing about, followed by details about the unit that provides support for your Disability Management program.
