One of the main goals of clinical research trials is to test the safety of new medical approaches. In 2014, a clinical trial was reported in which the goal was to evaluate the safety and tolerability of the drug SPD in subjects aged 6-17 years with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD), or Social Phobia (SoP). The trial was run on 59 volunteers that satisfied a series of criteria, including being clinically diagnosed with either GAD, SAD, or SoP. The volunteers were recruited from several parts of the US.

Baseline Vital measurements were taken from each subject prior to the administration of the drug and 12 weeks after the first administered dose. The difference between the later measurement and the baseline measurement was recorded for each subject and each vital function.
