oPINION OF

Project Management in 5 - 10 years:

While I believe that the foundational skills involved in project management will continuously be utilized in ongoing applications, my thoughts on the future outlook for project management styles is that more hybrid approaches fitting both employees and the project, not just project exclusive will be implemented. As we see a shift in work culture, such as employees now valuing work life balance and flexibility more, this may also be reflected in project management leadership styles which are laxer (such as laissez-faire), but one that also incorporates democratic and affiliative tendencies. Hybridized leadership and project management approaches unique to the group and project is quite plausible, as it seems with societal culture also being more emotionally aware, that inclusive principles will go hand in hand with inclusive based work efforts (i.e., with respect to hybrid schedules, mental health, differences in culture and opinions/viewpoints, etc).
