Option 2 the Bad Newsletter
Background
Jennifer Guyan has applied to your company in the position of a salesperson. However, you have decided to offer the position to another candidate who has more experience selling your companys products. Jennifer is your Marketing Managers niece, so it is very important that you give Jennifer some feedback on why she was not chosen for the position (she needs more experience with selling your particular products and would also benefit from a training program offered by your head office). While you want to give her constructive feedback in the letter, its also a good idea to invite her to meet with you in person if she wants further advice in applying for future openings in the company. Write the letter to Jennifer remembering to use the indirect format for bad news communication.
