Directions: Read the case below. Use the components in presenting the solution to the case. The Lodging Inn Orly and Angie Imperial are owners of Lodging Inn in Manila near Luneta. Lodging Inn consists of 20 rooms, some for couples and others for families. The lodge serves a simple breakfast during weekdays and a buffet breakfast on weekends inclusive in the charge of room. The peak months are from April to December and lay months are from January to March. The Lodging Inn employs one cook and three waiters for the kitchen. Other employees of the lodge include four housekeeping staff, two gardeners and two-front desk officers. The Imperial couple is so proud of the efficient operations of the Lodging Inn plus of course the loyal employees they have. According to the lmperials they always empower their employees in order to meet performance standards. In case like a guest requested that his breakfast is catered to his room or the demand for extra towels, the lodge always recognizes the decisions of employees to supply them. Increasing demand made the lmperials decide for an expansion of the Lodging Inn. Beside the lodge is a vacant lot enough to build another 20 rooms. This lot had been offered for sale to the couple two years back. The current yearly sales averages Php2M while all administrative and operating expenses costs around Php1.3M leaving the net income of Php700,000.00 annually. The proposed expansion will not affect the services the Lodging Inn offers to the guests. Further, the proposed expansion shall entail hiring additional employees in order to continue the branded excellent services being given to the guests. The couple also considers making tie-ups with businesses in the CALBARZON that offer hiking, horseback riding and zipline adventures. Part of the expansion plan is to renovate the kitchen to add dinner to their service during peak season. Additional employees are needed when the expansion plan becomes a reality. Holiday packages will be made available to customers once the expansion is completed. Not only is the Imperial couple excited about this plan but also the employees whose cooperation has been asked.
