Organizational structure assesses the arrangement of work roles and authority relationships that dictate interactions between associates and managers (Hitt et al., 2018). The current agency structure I work for has eight agencies throughout the US, with the corporate office in New York. All financial aspects of the company are in New York. My agency is tiny, consisting of an administrator, scheduler, one physical therapist, two physical therapy assistants, a clinical supervisor, a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse, a marketer, and an occupational therapist. At this moment, we follow along team-based organizational structures consisting of teams working towards common goals while focusing on individual tasks. These structures are less hierarchical, promoting problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork among employees with different backgrounds and skill sets (Hitt et al., 2018). As the company grows, I suspect the organizational structure will change. The team-based structure works at the agency for the most part. There is a lack of HR on the premises, so contacting HR at a different location is sometimes tricky. The facility, for the most part, works. As we all know, Human Resources plays a vital role in championing employee issues and serves as an asset in managing onboarding and retention initiatives
