DMP Academy is a preparatory school located in the upscale community of Westgate Hill in

Montego Bay, St$.$ James. The school is managed by Mrs$.$ Avis Powel who is the principal and

managing director. The management team is also supported by a board of directors which is

chaired by Mrs$.$ Powel. To maintain transparency, regular parents$-$teachers' meetings are held

between staff and parents.

However, at the last meeting held on January $10,2016,$ the parents vented their anger with regard

to rate of teacher turnover at the institution. The parents voiced their concerns that the rate of

employee turnover was too high when compared to similar schools in Montego Bay.

Nevertheless Mrs$.$ Powel did not agree, she highlighted that it is the norm for teachers to leave at

her institution given that it is not a government operated school.

As a result, she provided relevant data to refute the parents' claims who were alleging that the

turnover rate in the industry was actually lower for the period ended December $2015$:
