Paper Packaging

Assume you are a design engineer and your supervisor asked from you a proposal for their new product package design, the supervisor gives you the following requirements for the design of the package and product conservation requirements:

• Marketing requires small plastic cornered window to show the product
• The box dimensions must be in a range of 3"x3"x3" up to 10"x10"x10" since the product dimensions are an average of 2.5" x 2.5" x 2.5", and can be sold individual or in large groups per package
• Reduce the amount of plastic used (no plastic wrapper on the product)
• Package must be resistant to low temperatures
• Product is brittle and sensible to movement, and is desired for it to arrive the shelves in one piece
• Maximize usage of raw material (paper for box) identify possible size of the design and raw material size
• Easy to handle and carry
• Green engineering

Write the design with description and explanation of how you satisfy the need through your design proposal, amount of product per package. Also, describe an overview for the expected manufacture line of the packaged product, from raw material required to finish product.

A general guideline to help you build the proposal not bounded follow this format example, but the proposal must have structure:

• Meeting Package Requirement (product safety)
• Design Description (materials, form, drafts, etc.)
• Expected Manufacture process
