Paragraph 1 Describe a disagreement you have had with another person or witnessed. In a long paragraph (10-15 college level sentences), answer the following. Describe your side or one side of the issue. Now describe the other person's perspective. What may have influenced your interpretation of the other person's behavior (Chapter 3, Section 3.2, Table 3.I)? What common perceptual tendencies (Section 3.2) do you think were present in the conflict? Name at least one and explain how it was present. What elements of emotional intelligence were (or might have been) involved? What lessons or implications about communication arise from this experience? Paragraph 2 In your own words, how do you conduct a perception check and what's the benefit? If you could respond to the disagreement you described above with a perception check, what would it sound like?
