The student facilitating the CISD session is acting as the residential care facility team leader. The other students will be acting as workers who were on duty the day of the critical incident. Before participating in the role play. students will be allocated with 15 - 20 minutes to develop a plan for a CISD, relevant to the scenario. Team Leader instructions (student being assessed): 0 Plan and conduct CISD in a safe environment and in line with organisation standards and procedures. 0 Spend at least 15 minutes developing a plan for CISD session. before commencing role play. I How will you introduce it? I What questions will you ask? I How will you comfort workers? I What additional support will you suggest to workers If they require it? 0 Conduct role play in a quiet and condential location. 0 Identify possible stress and emotional wellbeing issues of workers and use appropriate CISD techniques to encourage exploration of emotions and experiences to assist in dealing with trauma experienced from the incident. 0 Use appropriate questioning to encourage workers to explore and acknowledge their feelings.
