Undertake a role play

For this task, you are to conduct a meeting with The Naja Group of Colleges' Board of Directors to discuss the format and style required for business documents, and set a completion date.

You are Stanley Evans, the Operations Manager at The Naja Group of Colleges.

The college has recently been granted with the approval, by the regulatory authority, of a new course of "Diploma of Hospitality". In regards to this, the college management has approached you and is seeking your help to prepare the marketing flyer/ brochure to promote this course.

• The marketing material is aimed at mainly marketing agents and students
• The purpose is to promote newly launched "Diploma of Hospitality".

Dear Stanley,

We would like to meet with you next Monday at 9:30am to discuss the document format and style, keeping in mind that we need to send this document to all the education agents along with a PowerPoint presentation. We also need to set a schedule for the completion of the documents.

Please prepare a draft brochure so we can discuss the details. Using the house style, provided in Appendices, select the style as well as any graphics you will use.

• Select basic design elements for your document that are appropriate to your audience and purpose.
• Use word processing software (business technology) to apply basic design elements and formatting to the text.
• Review and edit the draft text to ensure information accuracy and clarity.
• Check vocabulary, grammar, spelling and style for accuracy and punctuation.
• Check that the sentence, paragraph and section structures achieve the correct meaning and intent.
