Part $2$: Choose a Topic$\backslash$angstrom $$

Choose a topic for your website project from the options below. Your website will be a small local business offering appointments and services through the website. There will be no merchandise for sale or payments accepted online.

Auto shop

Some ideas include a tire shop, body shop, oil change station, repair shop, etc.

Salon

Some ideas include a nail salon, hair salon, day spa, pet salon, etc.

Medical office

Some ideas include a dentists office, optometrist, vet clinic, health care clinic, etc.

Write the name of your business and a short description in the appropriate spaces of the planning document.

This should be an imaginary business that does not exist.

Include the type of business, services offered, culture of the business, and a brief history $($how long has it been open, is it family$-$owned, has it won any awards, etc.$).$ Be specific.

Identify your organization's target audience and mission statement in the appropriate spaces of the planning document.

Describe the expected users for the website. Include demographics and descriptive language.

Write a one or two$-$sentence mission statement for the business.

Identify the websites purpose and goals in the appropriate spaces of the planning document.

The purpose answers the question: Why are you creating a website for this business?

The goals identify what you hope to accomplish or achieve once the website is complete.

Part $3$: Create a SitemapDetermine at least five pages that will be included in your website.

a$.$ You will have the following three required pages:

i$.$ Home page $($index$.$html$)$ ii$.$ About page $($about$.$html$)$ ill. Contact page $($contact$.$html$)$

b$.$ Choose at least two additional pages.

$2.$ Create a sitemap for your website using

Figma or Visio.

a$.$ Ensure you are applying global navigation to the website.

i$.$ Global navigation includes a link to each level $1$ and level $2$ page on every page.

ii$.$ Global navigation displays in the

same place and in the same order on every page.

b$.$ You will have one level $1$ page $($home page$)$ and level $2$ pagesb. You will have one level $1$ page $($home page$)$ and level $2$ pages $($all other pages included in the global navigation$).$

c$.$ Any level $3$ pages will be in addition to the five required website pages.

i$.$ Keep in mind time constraints when planning to include additional pages.

$3.$ Take a screenshot of your sitemap and add it to the website planning document in the appropriate space.

Part $4$: Create Wireframes

$1.$ Brainstorm ideas for your website layout using the Crazy Eights method or another method of your choice.

$2.$ Create wireframes for your website using Figma or Visio based on your ideas from the previous step. You should have at least five wireframes, one for each page on your website.

a$.$ Ensure each wireframe includes a logo$.$

b$.$ Ensure each wireframe includes at least one image and the logo$.$

c$.$ Ensure each wireframe includes two navigation bars.

d$.$ Navigation should be global.

i$.$ One navigation bar should be at the top of each page.

Ensure one wireframe includes a web form.

Take a screenshot of your wireframes and add it to the website planning document in the appropriate space.

Part $5$: Submit

Save and name the completed Unit $1$ Website Planning document and submit it to the Unit $1$ Assignment Dropbox.
