Case Study: Woolworths Group Diversity and Inclusion

The Woolworths group ('Woolies' for short) is an Australian company that owns supermarkets and other businesses like Woolworths Metro, Woolworth's Online, Big W and Dan Murphy's. They are the biggest supermarket chain in Australia and New Zealand. In 2004 Woolworths began to focus on gender diversity because women held only 16% of management positions, proactively targeting talent pipelines to get to 20% by 2007. By 2020 Woolworths drive towards diversity included projects supporting diversity initiatives in and outside the business. Woolworths publicises their support for diversity via their policy reflecting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
