After you have completed the problem, write a short description of the strategy you used to solve the problem. In a crowd of humans and horses, there are 48 legs and 18 heads. How many horses are in the crowd? Part B: Drawing a Picture One way to solve the problem is to draw a picture. To do so, let an oval represent a head and then draw segments off the oval for the legs as shown in the following figure. Solve the problem using simple drawings like this. After you are finished, write a sentence or two deseribing how you used the pictures to solve the problem.
