There is currently no crisis communication plan during the weekends. A crisis plan must be created for the weekend residential workers. There are 4-day time weekend workers (3 residential workers and 1 Coordinator) and 4 night-time weekend workers (3 residential workers and 1 Coordinator). The General Manager and Assistant Manager only work during normal business hours Monday - Friday but are available on the weekends via emergency phone.
Part B:
The company has recently decided to offer an "Overcoming Obstacles" program on Saturdays. This program will challenge the youths to attempt things they may be scared of or have never done and overcome them to build self-esteem. Activities will include hiking, camping, rock climbing, obstacle course, kayaking, etc.
TASKS:
Crisis Communication Plan
- Give a summary of the organisation and the services it provides.
- Identify 2 Crisis situations that may occur at this organisation.
- Create a communication plan for how the identified Crises should be responded to and communicated. Who will communicate what to whom? How will communication flow up and down the hierarchy of this organisation and also to necessary external stakeholders (e.g. Police, fire, sponsors, donors, etc.);
- Ensure your communication plan has clear processes and protocols
- Ensure you communication plan has more than one method of communication and/or uses more than one communication strategy
Ensure your communication plan considers any special communication needs to personnel and/or clients Ensure your communication plan follows workplace organisational protocols and etiquette for communication.
4 . Identify any competing or conflicting interests. Is there anyone or anything that may prevent your communication plan from working (or being implemented)? Explain how you will overcome the issues you have identified.
5. What networks or work-relationships do you need to develop and maintain in order for your communication plan to be effectively and meet organisation's objectives.
6. Prepare and Action Plan on how you will communicate and implement your communication plan. You may want to use a table similar to the below but add more lines as required.
