Part B - Role play: Report Personal Health Issues

You are a cook in Acumen Restaurant, and you have cut your finger while slicing onions as

part of your kitchen prep.

You must:

Access the first aid kit from its location in the kitchen and select a suitable bandage

Verbally report the incident to your supervisor, identifying:

o how the food was contaminated

o the correct steps you will take to remove the hazard and reduce the risk of

contamination (including what you will do if the wound is small and what you will

do if the wound is deep)

o assuming that your wound is not deep, the next steps you will take to resume

your food prep

This is a role play. Your assessor will participate in this role-play with you.

Your assessor will ensure you have access to the First Aid Kit.

Your assessor will record and assess your performance in the Role Play Observation Checklist

for this task.
