Part One- Independent t-test: We have examined subjects exposed to hot and cold environments and collected data on their heart rate during exercise/work.

Research question "is there a statistical difference for mean heart rate between participants either exposed to a hot- or cold environment?" Hot and Cold-temperature conditions can have diverse direct and indirect consequences (Wersebe et. al.,2019).

Assumptions Testing

  1. Data level of measurement- what is the level of measurement for the data used in this case study? The level of measurement for the data used in this case study is nominal.
  2. Would the amount of skewness and kurtosis in these variables affect the analysis? How do you know? Give numerical values to support your conclusion. The skewness and kurtosis in these variables would not affect the analysis. Both variables in the amount of both groupings fell within the + 1.96 parameters. In the hot grouping skewness was .0777 and kurtosis was .694 while, in the cold grouping, skewness was 1.01, and kurtosis was-0.52.
