You might ask just how the FTC goes about carrying out its mandate. The materials I have attached contain a recent case study involving Rite Aid Corporation that demonstrates how the FTC carries out its responsibilities. On July 27, 2010, the FTC and Rite Aid agreed to sign an "Agreement Containing Consent Order" (the "Agreement") in which Rite Aid agreed to cease violating its published privacy policy and to take steps to protect private information of consumers, employees and employee applicants in the future.
