Summary of the case: The underlying problem is in this case is one of the most important asset allocation problem that institutional investors like endowments and pension funds are grappling with today: how much, if at all, should relatively nontraditional but diversifying asset classes like real estate, commodities, and other "real assets" be used in an investment portfolio to improve the institution's risk/return profile.
