Although Steve loves people and often seeks coaching and mentoring roles, he does not feel like he does much good in them. He feels that no matter how hard he works, he never sees people improve for the better. He used to mentor people informally and really enjoyed it, but now that he is a formal mentor to others in the organization, it just does not seem as satisfying to him. To make matters even worse, Steve's low motivation and satisfaction seem to be spreading to his entire team, and even spreading into other teams under Pat's leadership. Pat is concerned that if this trend continues, the entire organization might suffer.
