1. Pat Legal decides to really expand her business. She lowers her prices to $900 per case, and believes that with this price she will get a lot more potential clients, and will be able to convert 20% of inquiries into paying clients (instead of 10%). She also hires a part-time paralegal to handle 1/3 of the cases - these are the simpler cases that do not require court appearances. The simpler cases need, on average, 2 hours of work -- whether they are done by Pat or by a paralegal. Pat will continue to handle the other cases that are more complex -- and take, on average, 5 hours of Pat's time.
