Patient information: 7-year-old typically developing Anya was recently diagnosed with Sickle Cell disease and has been hospitalized for an extended period of time for a pain crisis. Anya has a 4 year and old 11-year-old sibling at home who lives 5 hours away from the hospital and can only visit on weekends. Anya's dad is staying with Anya working from the hospital while her mom works and takes care of the siblings.

Goal: 7-year-old Anya and her family will engage in child life therapeutic activities to increase communication, decrease feelings of isolation and increase feelings of connection.
