Patrick breeds and sells dogs on his small farm. He posts their picture along with a short

description of their name, age and personality on his website for potential owners to

view. No prices are posted on the site. Sandy saw a posting and emailed Patrick on

March 1 to ask whether he would be willing to sell her one of his dogs, a dog named

"Lucky" for $2,500.

Patrick opened the email and read it on March 4. On March 5, he replied by email to

Sandy stating that $2,500 is too low and that $3,000 is the lowest price he will accept for

Lucky.

A few days pass, and on March 8, Patrick received a letter from Bob, asking if Patrick

would accept $3,500 for Lucky. Patrick liked this price. On March 9, Patrick mailed a

email Sandy to let her know that he has accepted another offer for Lucky, meaning

Sandy has not checked her email in awhile. On March 15, she read her emails, starting

offering a price of $3,000 for Lucky. On March 15, she emailed Patrick back to accept.
