Patrol officers are the face of law enforcement and probably the most common interaction the public has with law enforcement. Patrol officers are often the target of media stories, and use-of-force incidents are the most common focus.  What could be done to improve the public's understanding of patrol functions, and what are "legal" uses of force, and what constitutes an "illegal" use of force?
