Penny, a potential client of the accounting firm of ADAMS BAKER & CLINE (ABC), arrived at the firms offices for a consultation meeting with one of the partners. At the end of the hallway she noticed a sign on a door which said EMPLOYEES ONLY. Hoping the relief of a restroom awaited her on the other side of the door, Penny went through it only to find the firms filing room. A precariously placed, balanced, and overstuffed cardboard file box sat atop a set of shelves near the door. When Penny opened the EMPLOYEES ONLY-marked door, the doors movement disturbed the box, causing it to fall upon Penny, breaking her nose and bruising her face.
