Performance of an organization is a result of work done by the whole team (owners, managers, executive & staff). There is a role for everyone in the organization performance. This is true for most organizations in business. A good performance management system, would also have clearly defined organization performance indicators and would have identified good indicators at sub-organization level which are derived from the former. In such a system, striving to continuously improve performance requires huge efforts. Driving performance by connecting it to the performer's compensation is a good solution aspect that has been shown beneficial throughout the entire spectrum of performance management. Furthermore, it is obvious that we aim to boost both short- and long-term performance. This suggests that in order to secure future performance, we must link pay to measures that encourage progress in long-term performance in addition to recent past performance (short-term). Additionally, it has been observed that few firms actually put these ideas into practice in a correct and impartial way. Reply
