Person 1 gets along great with their team and especially their supervisor, Person 2. Person 2 knows Person 1s strengths and also knows how to challenge them just the right amount. In the middle of the current project, it is announced that Person 2 will be temporarily switching to another department and a replacement will come in for the present time to help oversee the remainder of the project. When Person 1 hears of this news, they are feeling a bit unsure as they believe they wont have the same work dynamic with the new replacement as they do with Person 2. What should Person 1 do?

Option 1: Ask Person 2 if they will still supervise the ongoing project, so as not to disrupt the flow. Although Person 1 wont have to adapt as much, there would be less room for any timeframe disruptions and any potential conflicts that could arise from within the group.

Option 2: Adapt to the new situation the best they can by continuing to do quality work. They could even set up a meeting with the replacement so they could get to know each other one-on-one and see how they both interact.

Option 3: Adapt by getting feedback from each of the other team members to see if they are equally as inconvenienced. If so, present these arguments to senior management to inform them that the project cannot continue with a new supervisor taking the lead.
