Phil owed Ralph $5,000 on a personal loan. Phil failed to repay the loan at the agreed time. One day while Phil was sitting in a restaurant with a group of friends, Ralph approached him and accused him of being a "deadbeat and a lazy crook". Ralph then told Phil's friends owed him money and failed to pay after numerous requests. Twenty-four hours later Phil forced his way into Ralph's house with a piece of iron rod and told him that he was going to kill him for what he did. Ralph then shoved Phil into the hall closet and released him two hours later. Upon his release Phil tripped and fell on the carpet in the darkened hallway injuring his leg. Ralph then pushed Phil out of the door while swinging a bat at him. Discuss the various tort actions that may be available to each.
