Physics Lab Project We will use a gun fashioned out of a pen as our projectile launcher. A laser pointer will be attached to the pen to act as an aim'ng device to ensure that the pen gun is pointing directly at the target object (monkey). A string will be tied to the trigger of the pen which is attached to the platform (a piece of paper), holding the platform up with tension. Once the clicker of the pen is pressed, the mechanism releases the projectile and the string will fall off of the trigger, simultaneously releasing the tension in the string. This will drop the paper platform for the monkey to fall dowm. Distance (approximately the length of 2 tables) will be fine tuned in order to match the arc of the projectile with the drop of the banana. 2 pieces of string will be attached to the paper platform, stretched over two meter sticks similar to the design of a conventional bridge. This will reduce overall slack and increase the tension ofthe string, as opposed to a design with the string drooping underneath the system. The paper platform will be attached to the rings of a binder by the 3 holes, sandwiched in between a stack of books that will be added to or taken away from to match the height accordingly. 0 Typed list of concepts for gun c Typed list of concepts for simultaneous release mechanism 0 Typed list of concepts for falling monkey Use physics key terms like kinetic energy, potential energy, conversation of energy, collision, etc. For each Concepts
