Planning for retirement is one of the things we all should take time to review and analyze. It's essential to live in the present and forget the past, to some extent, but we all must consider the future and how we will live in our golden years. Although I am happy with my current retirement plans, I put little thought into it when I started my first job at 16 or my professional career at 22. If I had, I could have retired at 50, like some people I know. They worked, lived, and planned! I worked, lived, and sort of planned! Roughly between 10 to 15 years ago, I started a great retirement plan and am currently playing "catch up" to retire at 62.
