Planting densities of coconut plantation is in the range of 160-280 plants/ha, depending on the variety and the planting distances chosen and the planting pattern adopted. Variety A is planted with a rectangular pattern, whereas variety B is planted with an equilateral triangular pattern.

a) Calculate the crop density (tree/ha) of variety A if the planting distance is 8.1 m x 8.1 m.

b) Calculate the crop density (tree/ha) of variety B if the planting distance is 6.5 m x 6.5 m x 6.5 m.

c)The farm area for variety A is 55.0 ha, whereas the farm area for variety B is 40.0 ha. Using the same planting pattern as abovementioned, calculate the total number of planting holes for each farm.

c) Based on 2(c), calculate the total weight of CIRP required for both farms if each planting hole is given 200 g of CIRP.

e) Six months after planting, each plant will be fertilized with 1.5 kg NPK Yellow of 15-15- 16-2. Based on 2(c), calculate the total weight of the NPK Yellow fertilizer need to be purchased for the application.
