1. ----This study is about coming up with better ways to assess a cherry's bruising and consumer quality in order to reduce touching and further damage and in turn uping the amount of quality cherry's making it to consumers. Hypothesis is that spectral data acquisition is a lower risk to fruit damage and in turn will increase customer consumption due to the decrease of mechanical damage to fruit. -----The spectral damage acquisition level or it detection ability rate results are the criterion variables, and predictor variables are the results from physical touching fruit to assess bruising and softness as well as the SSC juice extraction measurements results.

1. Beta is the numbers that tell us if the results are statistically significant or not, zero or near zero would be not relationship, negative numbers would be negative relationship and positive would be positive relationship.

In this article it was difficult to find as it wasn't clearly listed as "Beta" instead just numbers, but I was able to identify based on the books explanation. 3.81, 4.12, 3.07 making it positive relationship and showing statistical significant.

1. I feel like temporal precedence is established in this study by checking the sales and level of consumer selection of cherries from manual checking before comparing the results from the new infrared checking that causes less damage.
2. Controlled for means outside conditions or variables that need to be ensured that they hold the same or consistent. Mediating variable to me means that it explains or shows the relationships between variables, it explains the "why" for these found relationships. As our book states, it mediates between these said variables. In this research I feel the temperature the fruit is stored in as well as the length of time from being picked to reaching the store would need controlled for.
