Please answer it perfectly n to the point, i need to learn these questions(b) A client wishes us to design a fixed adsorption bed to dehydrate a light hydrocarbon gas
stream (C1-C3) of flow rate 200m3h containing 5molm3 water at on operating
temperature of 40C. For transport to site by road, the vessel dimensions must be
maximum 2m in diameter and 7m in height (tan-to-tan). The walls are 7mm thick. The
available adsorbents are listed in Table 8 below, and additional design data is presented
in Table 9.
i. Sketch the adsorption bed, indicating all parameters.
ii. Using the data in Table 8 and Table 9 below, determine the cost of material in
the bed for each adsorbent.
iii. Based on your result from part (ii), and on your knowledge of these
adsorbents, which is the most appropriate for the process and why?
iv. Using the data given in the question above and the table below, determine the
breakthrough time at these conditions. State clearly all assumptions made in
the calculation, all equations used, and define all parameters.
v. After the adsorber has been installed, if the breakthrough time needs to be
extended, explain which parameter(s) you could change to facilitate this.
