please answer the following question: Pick a non-USA country from Hofstede's website (go directly to https://www.hofstede-insights.com/product/compare-countries/), compare its culture dimensions with those of USA, explain the difference by using your own experiences (business or tourism traveling; experiences with some clients; information obtained from a business article/case study; etc.)

the answer: The country I have chosen is Peru, mainly because at my current place of employment, we have a few clients that are based out of Peru, and I have built rapport with them over the past couple of years. On a personal level, the clients I speak with from Peru are extremely friendly and can chat for hours if we had the time. When we do speak, I notice they love to "school" me on their country and ways of living. What is most intriguing when we speak is their strong Spanish accent and how proud they are of their culture and country.

As I compare Peru to Unites States, based off the Hofstede website chart we as countries are almost similar. Thepower distanceis a 24-point difference as Peru is slightly higher. The power distance proves that everyone in Peru is not equal, as some hold a higher power than others and it is known.Individualismis a huge difference when I compare Peru to U.S. Peru's score is at a 16 as this shows they have a collectivistic score and that the way they perceive living life is in groups and to look after one another. When we compare this to U.S., we can determine U.S. is more of a "think and take care of myself" type. This brings me back to one particular client I speak with from Peru, as he has told me more than once how he invests in small properties with us as a hobby so the extra money that he makes can be given to his 3 children so they do not have to work and can focus on their college education. As formasculinity, the scores between Peru and U.S. had about at 20-point difference putting Peru a little lower on the scale. This meant to me that Peru scored at the Feminine level showing them to be more on the dominant value in society as putting others first and caring for others outside of themselves. For the score ofuncertainty avoidance, Peru scored a high point of 87 while U.S. scored 46. What this explains is that Peru depends on laws and structure to get by in life. In my opinion, I was surprised and shocked that we (U.S.) scored so low. I believe we also depend on laws for our country to run smooth. As for thelong term orientation, the scale between U.S. and Peru were both low and at 1 point difference. I can mostly agree and see this score as accurate as most people, especially the Spanish culture tend to take pride in their traditions and culture. I say this at a Hispanic point of view and being from the U.S. Finally, we haveindulgence. Peru scored at a lower level of 46, while U.S. scored 68. Indulgence is the way people in Peru are described when it comes to how they socialize. Because Peru scored a little low, the country is considered less sociable.

In conclusion, my opinion on this topic when I compare Peru to the United States is that they are uniquely similar in a sense to my own culture. I am Hispanic and feel I am relatable to Peru's culture and ways of living. However, as a whole; a country, the outlook will be different for everyone of different cultures. Attached you will find a screen shot of my comparison from the two countries.
