Please answer the following questions based on the reading and any outside research you need to perform in order to provide answers. Please note that while some of your answers will require outside research, the rest requires intellectual thought, your experience, and your opinions. Make sure you review the Grading Rubric before submitting your answers, so you know the format to utilize and what you are being graded against. In any part of your answer, don't just copy the words from the textbook and try to give examples not found in the reading. Please respond using numbered paragraphs like I wrote, but you can have multiple paragraphs per number.

Please share real life examples of two different sets of persons or people who were convicted of larceny, larceny by trick, false pretenses, embezzlement, receiving stolen property, forgery, money laundering, counterfeiting, or identity theft at the state and federal level. You cannot describe the same crime for both the state and federal crimes. You cannot describe the same offenders for both the state and federal crimes.

You can describe one person at each level or multiple people at each level. For instance, you may compose about one person who was convicted of larceny at the state level and two people who were convicted of counterfeiting at the federal level. Or it could be two or more people convicted of false pretenses at the state level and one person who was convicted of identity theft at the federal level.

It is permissible for you to compose about people who were convicted of more than one of the crimes at a given level. For instance, if you found a case where the person or people were convicted of both counterfeiting and embezzlement, you can still use the case, but for your other answer, pick a different crime to cover. Do not cover the same people or same crimes at the state and federal level. I want to hear about two separate incidents/people who did different crimes at the different levels.

Then answer the following: Please describe who was involved, what they did, and to what extent. Explain the crimes (including definitions) and what occurred. How did the offender(s) operate? How did they get caught and did they plead guilty or go to trial. If a trial, were they found guilty or not guilty? What do you think motivated the offender(s) to commit the crimes? Do you feel that their punishments were fair? Explain the difference between the convictions from the state case and the federal case.

You can tell me about a case that you've always known about, a case that happened in a place you were living at, or a case you have to look up on the Internet. Please provide a link to the cases if possible. I would submit two numbered paragraphs to delineate your answers.
