Q1. Digital image basics [6 marks, 3 marks for each] 1. A digital image has 600 PPI (pixel per inch) with 16-bit grayscale level. The dimension of the image is 4 inch x 6 inch. How many images can be store in a storage device having a capacity of 2 GiB (gibibyte)? 2. Suppose that you have taken an image in low light. As a result, the image has low contrast. What are the advantages of using histogram shifting/stretching to improve the contrast rather than simply scaling the image by a constant factor, i.e. multiplying all the pixel values by the constant factor?
