Unusual Observations - "Internal" Outlier (II) 0 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 20 20 18 18 16 16 14 14 12 12 10 10 CO 10 10 14 N N O 0 10 12 14 16 18 20 1. Using all the points, except the outlier (6,14) : The correlation coefficient, r (and perhaps r) and the regression line equation were computed on the previous page. Write these down here and add the line to the scatter plot. 2. Including the outlier (6, 14) : Note that it has an extreme y value, compared to other points with similar x values. Again, find r (and perhaps ) and the equation of the regression line. Does there seem to be a linear relationship between x and y? Draw the new regression line. How does it compare with the previous regression line? Would you say that (6,14) is an "influential" point (cdoes it substantially alter the regression line)
