Please assist me with this scenario for constitutional law b :
X is an honours student in Economics at the Eastern Cape University (ECU). He grew up in Peddie where he lived with his maternal grandmother after his mother passed away when he was in primary school. On completion of grade 12, X secured NSFAS funding to study towards a B Com degree at the ECU. He obtained this degree with distinction. It is expected that he will obtain his honours degree with distinction. x wishes to enrol for a master's degree in 2021. While searching for funding, he noted that applications for a particular bursary that would fit his proposed research for his master's thesis perfectly were restricted to women. He established that the bursary funded and administered by Sustainable Futures NPO. When x contacted the offices of Sustainable Futures he was informed in no uncertain terms that the bursary was reserved for women and that he need not apply. Following this interaction x wishes to know whether the restriction of this bursary amounts to unfair discrimination on the basis of sex. x was informed by his friends studying law that he could refer a complaint to the Equality Court.
How would i advice x if he is to succeed in the equality court asserting the restriction of applications to females as unfairly discriminatory.
