2. Update and maintain general ledger

3. Reconciliation of debtors/creditors and cash book

4. Complete performance report

Use your knowledge to record the transactions of Thavhani car wash in the following cash books.

a. Cash receipt journal for July 2023 with the following analysis columns: analysis of receipts, Bank, current income and sundry accounts (23 marks).

b. Cash payments journal for July 2023 with the following analysis columns: Bank, Wages, Consumables stores and Sundry accounts (27 marks).

c. Close off the journal at the end of the month.

Transactions July 2023:

  1. The owner of Thavhani car wash Baloyi Gift deposited his capital contribution of R50 000 directly into the business account, receipt no 1 issued to him.
  2. Paid rent of the building to CBA properties by EFT 001 for R3000.
  3. Paid DYZ by EFT 002 for car wash chemicals R2500.
  4. Paid R500 to municipality for trading licence by EFT 003
  5. Received R1000 from clients. this amount appears on cash register roll.
  6. Baloyi Gift deposited R1500 received from clients.
  7. Paid wages by EFT 004 R2000.
  8. Purchased pressure washer from game store by EFT 005 R7000.
  9. Received R1800 for service rendered
  10. Baloyi Gift withdrew R1700 from the current bank account for wages.
  11. The DYZ suppliers asked to use section of a car wash for promotion. they paid R500 in return. a receipt was issued to the suppliers of chemicals for service rendered according to the cash register roll R2500.
