Please can someone help me draft an email based on the information given and making reference to the SRA code of conduct for solicitors 2019
Unit 16 Client Care Skills - Candidate Materials - June 2012 TASK 3: DOCUMENT 6 EMAIL FROM RAVI SINGH FROM: rmsingh@kempstons.co.uk TO: traineelegalexecutive@kempstons.co.uk DATE: 16 September 2018 SUBJECT: Evie Knowles' Court Hearing. File: RS/EAK/09212 Hi I'm forwarding an email I received from Evie's father, Ken, asking me to phone him, but I think it's best to email a reply. Please can you draft an email reply for me (in my name) and I'll look at it when I get back from court later today. My secretary told me that Evie spoke to her earlier today to say Ken was arranging for her brother James to take her to the court. However, Evie was not sure whether it was in the new premises or not and my secretary said she'd check with me. Evie did say she knew her dad would be emailing to ask about the venue and it would be OK if we replied about where the case will be held and confirming what time she should get there with her brother James. However, Evie said that although it was a bit awkward for her to say this, she was sure her dad would also be trying to get involved in what she should say at the hearing. Evie didn't want to get conflicting advice and just wanted to be guided by me at the court hearing, so she specifically asked we did not enter into any discussion on that with Ken. In your reply to Ken you will need to politely explain the reason why we cannot discuss the case with him. Stick to explaining the rules to Ken - you need to use some tact and not mention that Evie did not want to have him involved! However, it is important that you try to reassure Ken, as I know he is anxious, but I will obviously be doing my best for Evie tomorrow. I meant to remind Evie at the meeting last week that the case would be in the new court complex, but as you'll remember time was a bit tight! As you may know, the court moved into new premises earlier this month. The address is The Courthouse, New Westgate Business Park, London Road, Kempston, MK43 1ZZ. Can you tell Ken this please and tell him to make sure Evie's brother gets her to court by 9am. I do not want them to be late this time! Thanks, Ravi Criminal Litigation Department
