Instagram is an American company that enables people to share photos and videos. It is an artistic way to capture unique moments and share them with friends and family. The mobile-friendly/ desktop app allows people to share multimedia that can be edited using different filters and grants the user access to tag certain people that are in the post. These posts can either be shared publicly or privately, depending on the user's settings. If the user has a private account, only select followers can see their posts. If the user has a public account, everyone on Instagram can see their posts.

More companies, brands, and organizations nowadays use Instagram business accounts. Fortunately, an Instagram business account is simple to setup and offers many perks for a business. With a business account, additional features are obtainable such as Instagram insights and the ability to run ads. Instagram insights allows one to see the content followers engage in, and how followers interact with your content. This can become extremely useful when deciding what content to post, and how to connect with followers. Engaging with followers allows them to feel valued, meaning that are more likely to promote the business. Finally, having the ability to run ads is significant because it expands awareness brand promotion, and can increase sales.

If I started a skincare line, I would use an Instagram business account to promote my business. I would be able to make my posts interactive by using user-friendly language, incorporating different filters to edit my posts to make them colourful and engaging, using hashtags to reach more followers on Instagram, and I would tag my skincare line in my posts to gain more exposure for myself. Next, I would create ads on my business account, so my skincare line has the opportunity for increased sales, and to get promoted faster. Lastly, I would use Instagram's "Direct Message" feature to message other skincare lines, to see if they would like to possibly promote each other's brands and work on a collaboration. It is important to have friends in the business field, gain trust, and to work together.
