Business Plan Table of Contents 1. Executive Summary Executive Summary goes near the beginning of the plan but is written last. It provides a short, concise, and optimistic overview of your business that captures the reader's attention and creates a need to learn more. The executive summary should be no more than two pages long, with brief summaries of other sections of the plan. 2. Business opportunity Every successful business exploits an opportunity. Opportunities arise from problems or "needs" that customers are willing to spend money to solve or to satisfy. The Business Opportunity part delves into the nature of the problem or need: who experiences the pain; how people are currently addressing the pain (both substitutes and competitors); and how much people are willing to spend to alleviate the pain. Broadly speaking, this part is a description and analysis of your potential market. 3. Products and services This is your brilliant idea. Exactly what are you introducing into the marketplace that takes advantage of the opportunity you'v e identified? How does it work, and how does it solve the problem? What are the features and benefits of your products? Your Products and Services section needs to showcase the quality, value and benefits your business offer. 4. Competitive Analysis Competitive Analysis is devoted to analyzing your competition - both current competition and potential competitor who might enter your market. In this section, you need to include an in depth assessment of the competition, competitive advantages of your business and how your business will compete in the sector. L 5. Marketing Plan How you'll bring your product/service to its consumer. (4Ps - Product, Price, Place (Channel), Promotion) Product Describe your product or service, how it benefits the customer, and what sets it apart from competitor offerings
