Mary and Bob, two project managers from the Tucson, Arizona area, have decided to get married on a Saturday in December next year. As project managers, they want to save on the cost by acting as their own wedding coordinators. In true PM fashion, they've come up with a basic scope statement and even a basic Work Breakdown Structure. However, they need some help from you (one of their work colleagues). Your job will be to help with resource management - estimates, costs, acquisition, and management. While they may get some financial help from their families, they currently plan to cover all expenses. They do not want to compromise quality, but they cannot go over budget. Instructions Step 1. You should first read Mary and Bob's Scope Statement Step 2. Then, you should review the Work Breakdown Structure that they have kindly provided to you. Step 3. If you need to, review the "Resource Breakdown Structur 2 " video you watched earlier in this module: Step 4. Create a Resource Breakdown Structure for Mary and Bob's wedding. The scope and WBS will provide much of the information you need. The RBS should be appropriately categorized by resource types. It should be loosely based on the figure at the top of this page, which comes directly from the PMBOK. Please remember that each Work Package on the WBS (the lowest level) will have many different resources involved to complete the associated activities in that package. Step 5. You can create the RBS using any software program, but it is CRITICAL that you upload it in a format easily accessible to all people-PDF is the best; MS Word or PPT will work; STANDARD image files such as jpg, png, gif are okay as well. Do not upload in pages or other Apple software (sorry, not widely available). If you utilize Google documents, be sure you adjust viewing and access privileges. If I can't access it, I cannot review and grade it. Party Attire. \& Bar Tender Aary and Bob, two working professionals from the Tucson, Arizona area, have decided to get married in a Saturday in December next year. Mary and Bob are project managers and want to save a little on. he cost by acting as their own wedding coordinators. In true PM fashion, they've come up with a lasic scope statement and even a basic Work Breakdown Structure. However, they need some help in esource management (estimates, costs, acquisition, management) and some details from you, their roject manager colleague. Please note: they DO NOT want you to use an "all items included" venue. While they may get some financial help from their famillies, they currently plan to cover all expenses. - Invitees will recelve a save-the-date communication (in negotiable format) and a paper invitation by US mail. - The rehearsal dinner (Friday night before the wedding) will be held at a local restaurant (to be determined) with 25 total people in attendance. There are no expectations beyond being seated together and ordering off the restaurant menu. You will later offer suggested locations. - The wedding ceremony and reception will have 75 attendees, plus a wedding party of bride, groom, 3 bridesmaids, and 3 groomsmen. - The wedding venue is not yet determined, but you will help with this. It must be: a church (denomination is not important), within 25 miles of Tucson (use the University of Arizona [bool] as your measuring point), and able to handle 75 attendees. - The reception must be held at a different location. It can be indoors or outdoors. There should be ample parking for 50 cars. - The ceremony will need an officiant. Mary and Bob are open to an ordained official from any church. They want you to pick two rings. There should be special flowers for the bride, suitable flowers for bridesmaids (3), corsages for mothers (3), boutonnieres for groom (1) and groomsmen (3) and fathers (3). The ceremony location must seat 75 people (plus wedding party, who will stand). It should be suitably decorated. - The reception must have seating for 75 plus wedding party, with no special arrangements for the couple. Full tableware and linens should be provided. Food and drink (dinner) should be plated and served-no buffet. Two meal choices, plus a vegetarian option, must be provided. Non-alcoholic beverages are fine, though Champaign should be available in a bottle for each table. A cash bar is requested. The couple desire a wedding cake created by a professional baker, NOT by the caterer or reception venue. The couple request a DI to provide music for at least three hours. Tables should contain some sort of take-home favor for attendees. The reception site should be suitable decorated. - The reception will require servers, bartenders, parking attendants, and a limousine to transport the couple from the wedding to the reception and then to the Tucson airport. - The bride and groom will require appropriate attire (this is a formal eventl) The three bridesmaids and three groomsmen will also require formal attire. - The couple request a photographer and a videographer. They request a package with a selection of photographs (couple, family, ceremony, reception) and a video to commemorate the day. - Their budget for all items included in the scope (below) is $25,000. They are not afraid to spend the full amount but they are not prepared to go over budget. - Guests will cover their own post-wedding travel and accommodation costs. - The honeymoon is not part of this project
